  • I’m desperate!!!

I came in the Us last year with a B1/B2 visa to attend to a conference, sent by my Organization. Against all odds, I Found love and go married this year. Filled for my AOS myself (huge mistake).
Now my case says I’m ready to be scheduled for interview soon. Problem is that, going through my application I realized that I forgot to mention my last occupanction in that Organization in some of the paperworks. Now I’m afraid it’s gonna be a big problem at the interview.
Should I hire an attorney now to help me with it, or just leave it like that. Since the interview is more focused on my marriage.
I’m desperate I don’t know what to do.

What?!! I think your bigger problem is - you came LAST YEAR for a conference and happen to MEET, establish a relationship and even get married by following year?!! Thats suspicious... if i were an immigration officer, people who come to the country and are married within a year- they are suspicious to me big time! Come on.. we all know, how long it takes to meet someone and even get to a point to talk about a wedding! I dont know... arent they looking at sudden, quick marriages as red flags?

Quick marriages aren't listed as red flags by the USCIS...in fact i think the whole AOS process was designed to accommodate situations like this. I have relatives who happen to get married quickly, their marriage was bonafide...as some are even married now for 10 years and went through the process with ease. USCIS isn't concerned with the length of the marriage/how long you have been together etc but more down the lines of whether there is a relationship or true marriage. What you might consider as a red flag isn't one...damn **** happens, people fall in love quickly/easily it's not up to you to decide whether or not they are truly in love and got married for said reason.

Im not deciding anything!! Please, be respectful and polite! I wasnt rude, no need to be rude to me, thank you! logically the longer the relatioship, chances are its a real one! Just my opinion, i dont know... thats why they give CONDITIONAL GREEN CARDS, to test the test of time!! To see, if those two are in it for the long haul.. logic

You also need to calm down. Just prepare another I-485 for the interview with the new information added and explain the situation to the officer. You are also not alone, I missed out info on my j1 history here and i will add it to a new i-130a to be presented at the interview. Just ensure that you have all the necessary supporting documents for your interview....why worry when u can prepare?

Its not being rude, but you're frightening the person unnecessarily. I'm just saying all of that because if i was her and reading that you would cause me to be even more distressed and for what...your opinion? And as a matter of fact you haven't even gone through the interview as yet...so... AND You do realize she has posted 3 times on this forum?

ITS not about stalking but she started 3 threads back to back saying the same thing so thats not hard to pick up, but maybe it's my past attorney training...idk. This is the one time I'm going to yield but I'm just saying don't go around saying certain stuff because people actually take things from here as set in stone just like the bible.

I did write “I DONT KNOW” in that post! Even tho, the applicant did not address me , i apologize TO THEM, if i sounded harsh!! I know nothing, am not an immigration officer and i just expressed an opininon- maybe i was “charged” affer reading someone telling a person with a child, that they will be deported and they will lose a child!! That struck a chord with me, those were some serious “opinions”!! So i was upset!! Basically, someone said those things in such serious situation (yet i did NOT address that writer- unlike you addressed me), and than i read, how someone whos met&married a person within a year, has no kids is applying.... so i reacted. And i did NOT read , how mamy threads anyone posted, because i dont pay attention to that- i read the question only.

Alright people, these back and forth replies are not helping the person who is desperate. I would suggest to the person, to contact a lawyer or still try to talk things through with the spouse.

First step is relax and take a deep breath. after that just tell the truth and remain calm.

There is no legal requirement to date for X months or years before marriage. Everyone is different and we all walk life at our own pace. Do not forget arranged marriages still exist and those marriages are just as valid. What they care about is that you present
evidence of a bona fide marriage relationship. That really comes down to solid evidence of commingling of finances and evidence of planning for a future together.

took me a week of knowing my wife(pre marriage) to know I wanted to marry her. and would have done it had she been ready. "we all know, how long it takes to meet someone and even get to a point to talk about a wedding"? get real there's no specific time limit for that. you really need a good dose of reality.

give me a break, it's not stalking if you don't have privacy settings on your profile.... now if he/she had posted a picture of your ******** profile or something, than sure that would be stalking, but this was just him/her being observant.
